EuroPerio9 took place from June 20 to 23, at the RAI convention centre in Amsterdam. This global scientific meeting point served to announce the latest news regarding periodontal health and its impact on general health. The success of this event was reflected in the nearly 10,000 participants from more than 100 countries around the world who did not want to miss the leading event in the sector.
DENTAID, an expert Oral Health company, presented 9 research studies conducted in the DENTAID Research Center:
- An oral communication: Beta lactamase genes and antibiotic multiresistance in amoxicillin resistant isolates obtained from patients with periodontitis.
- An oral presentation of a scientific poster focused on the Transcriptome analysis of a 4-coloniser community during biofilm formation.
In addition, seven E-posters were presented. Carried out by investigators from the DENTAID Research Center, some of these studies have been in collaboration with American and European universities or with other research centres.
THE IMPORTANCE OF COMPLETE ORAL HYGIENE: INTERPROXIMAL HYGIENE
DENTAID had a booth in the exhibition area to present its latest innovations, with a special introduction of the Interprox product range to emphasise the importance of interproximal cleaning for achieving 100% complete oral hygiene.
The new Interprox campaign was launched, focusing on disclosing the specific features of the widest range of interproximal brushes developed by oral health professionals for the complete removal of oral biofilm from interproximal spaces.
Over the four days of the meeting, more than 120 sessions were offered by world-renowned experts in periodontology and implant dentistry. Issues also to be addressed include: global responsibility for periodontitis, the role of nutrition and the consequences of obesity on gingival health, the impact of sleep disorders on periodontal health, the role of intestinal microbiota on gum disease, gum diseases that affect the rest of the body and the relationship between periodontitis and diabetes and between periodontitis and cardiovascular disease.
